tremors

It's difficult to be an optimistic person in my old age. It's even more difficult to find the good in Azeroth when we keep destroying its natural resources. These tremors we've been experiencing lately I think are a result of it. Azeroth is fighting back.

However, I have heard rumors of an old, terrible beast and his impending return. I don't know what to make of that, though. You know how rumors are.

Let me tell you a story about a gnome friend of mine.

When I was a wee lad, a friend of mine trained some baby gorillas to dance. Now, gorillas are much like men so they found dancing to be almost a natural past time and when dressed in little shirts and shorts they looked just like us (er, humans). Everyone loved to watch these gorillas dance until one day, Nelson the Nice (which, how he got this name I'll never understand), was in attendance.

He decided to embarrass my friend. He took from his pocket a handful of nuts and threw them in front of the dancing gorillas. The gorillas at the sight of the nuts forgot their dancing and became (as indeed they were) beasts instead of actors. Pulling off their shirts and tearing at their shorts, they fought with one another for the nuts. The dancing spectacle thus came to an end amidst the laughter and ridicule of the audience.

Why do I tell you this? Not everything that we see is what it appears to be. Yes, a terrible beast could be returning to Azeroth, or the world itself is fighting back. I have a hunch we will soon discover the true cause behind these tremors.

my brother and me

Babagahnoosh is my brother.  He joined the Kirin Tor when he was very young leaving me to take care of the family.  You see, our father died many years ago.  Murdered by some Orc...

He may not look it, but Bab is very very old (even older than you would guess)...and grumpy...and stubborn...and a pain in my you-know-what.  I'm trying to get to know him again, but ever since I came back as a deathknight he's wanting nothing to do with me.  He's treating me like I'm a different creature or something.  To top it off, he made my joining the Kirin Tor painfully difficult.

So, if you see him milling about in Dalaran give him a swift kick in the rear for me.  Take a screenshot of it if you wanna and post it down below.  Give him your worst, he deserves it.

me and the dragon

As a Bloodsail Admiral I do not find time to visit Gadgetzan, Booty Bay, or Everlook that often, but when I heard the cries for help from the middle of Gadget I raced to the center of town.

I was 100 yards away when I saw the head of giant bronze dragon breathing fire into the various buildings. Goblins, young and old, were being burnt to a crisp. One young dwarf attempted to lure the dragon away, but to no avail...

Another goblin shot off a rocket that exploded into blue flame, but the dragon was not distracted. It seemed that it had one mission to accomplish.

I hopped off my black bear, equipped my axe and ran into town.

It took the dragon a moment to see me. I am quite small, remember? But when he did I thought my life would end...again.

It took a deep breath and blew fire in my direction. I lept out of the way and cast a Death and Decay under his feet. He let out a great howl of pain as I hit him with a powerful Icy Touch.

I knew I was eventually going to have to get in close if I wanted to slay this thing. I looked around and saw all the remaining villagers huddled behind buildings and boxes - looking at me for help.

These are the same people who would attack me if I even set foot near their homes on a regular day. But I didn't want to think about that then.

I sprinted towards the dragon's side and hit him with an unforgiving plague strike.

He then swung his huge arm and slapped me into the side of the Inn. It was then I knew that this fight would not be won so easily...

having a drink

Hello,

When one gets to the end of his days he begins to think back on what he has accomplished.  For me, and others like me, we have two opportunities to do this.  You see, I once lived as a heroic warrior of Gnomeregan until one fateful day when it all came to an end.  My reflections may not mean much to you, but if you have a few minutes I would like to tell a few stories, impart some wisdom, and hopefully entertain you so that I may leave a lasting impression on your life.  Everyone wants to be remembered...

However, I'm not dying today, or tomorrow for that matter.  I still have some juice left in me, and I am always looking for new disciples.  So, if you're wanting some free wisdom from a gnome who has lived two lives, stick around.  There's going to be a bunch of it.

Yours in Life and Death,
Bloodsail Admiral Sokrates
